@myOnlineID Well now you know. As for FB privacy – unlike the masses, I’m not particularly concerned with FB privacy changes. In actual fact their privacy settings are the most advanced of any site, and in the years I’ve been using fb, no change has ever really adversely affected my settings, plus all changes have come with a fair period of warning.

So you found my nameless digital agency. Congratulations. Would you like a gold star for the achievement?

I see, you’ve fixed it as of this afternoon. I didn’t know you could undo Facebook permalinks once chosen.

You customise who can see what this week, until fb’s next regular re-jig of the privacy settings. Who knows what that could reveal when your carefully adjusted prefs no longer exist?

As for the other direction, ages ago I took “top London digital agency which shall remain nameless” as a challenge. It felt quite an achievement to discover its lexicographically challenged, watery name, even though it wasn’t actually that hard!

Incidentally, leaving anonymous (and by anonymous here I mean, internet-persona-anonymous) comments really doesn’t say much for a person’s character. Call me old-fashioned but it’s just one of those blogosphere courtesy things. Esp when I probably already know you. Kinda just one step up from ye old troll/hater (of which I’ve dealt with a-plenty). Tsk tsk tsk..

Yes yes , finding me on fb is a given – the average person won’t see very much at all unless I “accept” them, and even then I make good use of friend lists to customise what is displayed. If you’ll check again though, you’ll find my fb does not contain my username. It was probably the biggest of my “broken cardinal rule” examples, which I decided needed fixing. As for the reverse, searching my username does not reveal my real name.. and even if it did, I am less concerned about that direction.

Your Facebook page (which people in “real life” will find whether you tell them about it or not) contains your online username. And your online username leads to your real name. It’s simply a matter of luck that most people are either too lazy, too dumb or too disinterested to follow them up.
